Open enrollment Florida: ACA & Medicare dates
Plan G is a Medicare Supplement plan that covers nearly all of the out-of-pocket gaps left by Original Medicare, apart from the Part B deductible.
If you missed the ACA window
Missing the ACA window does not strand you: a special enrollment period opens when you lose other coverage, move, marry, have a child, or hit another qualifying event — typically giving 60 days around the event. Many people discover they qualified for a special period all along.
Medicare's two clocks
Turning 65 opens your initial enrollment period (seven months around your birthday month), and the October 15–December 7 window each year lets you switch Advantage or Part D plans or add a Supplement. Miss those and late penalties or delayed coverage can follow — timing matters as much as plan choice here.
Medicaid and year-round programs
Medicaid, CHIP for children and pregnancy-related coverage accept applications year-round in Florida; eligibility, not a season, decides them.
How an agent helps at enrollment
A licensed agent checks subsidies, networks and deadlines for your exact household at no cost to you — carriers pay appointed agents, so the guidance is free even though the enrollment is the same as doing it alone.
Florida Health Insurance Web provides Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), ACA Marketplace Plans, Final Expense Insurance, Small Group Health Insurance, Medicare Part D across Statewide Florida.
